Our planet is calling for help. Ever since the beginning of human history, we have lived, blessed by the extensive resources the planet put at our disposal. Clear water, safe air to breathe, sunlight, clever climate, rich soil to grow food and plants to heal ourselves, rocks and minerals, wild rivers and oceans full of life, lands, forests and mountains providing us with space, variety and an amazing diversity of life. All organised in an incredibly complex self-regulating system providing us with the perfect habitat. Over the last centuries, most human civilisations have been so busy developing and fighting over the control of those resources that they never thought they could come to an end. Unfortunately, they do. Through intensive agriculture, deforestation, pollution of soils, rivers and oceans, overexploitation of plants and animals causing species extinctions, air pollution and extensive greenhouse gas emissions. We have pushed our planet to its limit and our now facing the biggest environmental crisis ever known before. One of its most threatening impacts: climate change. The emissions of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere to an unsustainable level are causing drastic temperature change, more frequent storms, typhoons and natural disasters, warming and level rise of the ocean and the alteration of its PH levels towards a general acidification that will cause massive species extinction.
